SUBMER, a leading innovator in advanced immersion cooling solutions for Cloud and Edge computing, announced today its latest collaboration with BIT, a Dutch company specializing in green colocation, internet connections, managed hosting, and outsourcing for corporate internet users. Companies will be able to visit BIT’s colocation data centre and receive a live demonstration of Submer’s award-winning immersion technology, the SmartPodXL, as part of the partnership. 2CRSI will provide servers for use in the SmartPodXL.
The impact of the Submer and BIT partnership
We are producing more data, with each person producing 1.7 megabytes per second in 2020. With this increase in data and the increased use of machine learning applications, more computing power is essential. Data centres require cooling and storage solutions that meet high-density requirements while also being highly efficient and sustainable. More computing power generates more heat, causing the equipment to get (significantly) warmer. A data centre must then be able to cool the equipment to ensure it keeps working. Immersion cooling is one of the best options on the market for storing more equipment (with greater computing power) in less space. This is possible with Submer’s SmartPodXL while still meeting data centre cooling criteria.
Submer’s SmartPodXL will be on display at BIT’s green colocation data centre in Ede, the Netherlands. Customers will be able to book a time for a live demonstration of Submer’s immersion cooling technology and truly understand how immersion cooling can improve their IT operations, as well as their efficiency and sustainability. Customers will have the opportunity to ask questions and get a closer look at Submer’s cutting-edge technology.
